  • China launched its first cyber (internet) court specialising in handling internet-related cases in the e-commerce hub of Hangzhou, amidst an increase in the number of online disputes.
  • The Home Affairs Ministry had launched a digital police portal under Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems Project (CCTNS). Citizens can file online crime related complaints and request for antecedent verification.
  • Indian Navy’s second CU (landing craft utility) Mark IV L52 ship has been commissioned at Port Blair, capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. LCU L52 is the second LCU Mk-IV class ship to be inducted into the Indian Navy. It was indigenously designed and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers.
  • South Delhi Municipal Corporation has launched a train called ‘mosquito terminator’ which will spray insecticides on the sides of the tracks.
  • Oinam Bembem Devi, and Indian woman footballer, has been awarded the Arjuna Award. She has been nicknamed the ‘Durga of Indian football’.
  • Shapath Bharadwaj won a bronze medal in the double trap event at the ISSF Junior Shotgun World Cup in Porpetto, Italy.
  • Scientists from Los Alamos National Laboratory, USA, have discovered a potential new state of matter that may help explain phenomena like superconductivity. It was discovered in the high-magnetic-field state of the heavy fermion superconductor CeRhIn5.
  • India’s first calf delivered by a surrogate or recipient cow through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) technology carried out in a mobile laboratory was born in Indapur, Pune (Maharashtra). It has been named as Vijay.
  • Scientists from United Kingdom (UK) have developed the world’s smallest surgical robot called Versius. It can mimic human and can be utilized in surgical procedures.
  • Uber India has appointed Vishpala Reddy as the chief people’s officer for its India & South Asia operations.
