  • Government of Kerala organised the National Theatre Festival 2017 in Thiruvananthapuram, dedicated this year to Kavalam Narayana Pannikar.
  • 105th Indian Science Congress will be hosted by Osmania University, Hyderabad in 2018. The congress is conducted to promote and advance science in India.
  • Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, has assured 24*7 power-supply to the holy cities of Ayodhya, Mathura, Varanasi, and Gorakhpur. He also banned tobacco and betel in government buildings.

  • Owing to the new GST rules, Central Board of Excise and Customs will now be known as Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs. CBIC will implement the rules and provisions of the proposed GST laws.
  • World’s largest capstone was discovered by the Telangana Archaeology Department in Narmeta village, Siddipet district.
  • India won 73 medals (37 gold, 10 silver, 26 bronze) in the 2017 Special World Winter Games, Austria. The motto of this year’s games was ‘Heartbeat for the World’.

  • Sebastian Vettel won the 2017 Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, beating Lewis Hamilton.
  • Bangladesh celebrates its Independence Day on March 26. The independence from Pakistan, right after the army committed genocide on Bengalis by the name of ‘Operation Searchlight’, was achieved in 1971. It is celebrated in the memory of the martyrs of the Bangladesh Liberation War.
  • The 10th Earth Hour was observed on Mach 25, 2017 by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). UAE celebrated the day with the theme ‘Highlight Climate Action’.
