  • INS Karanj, the third Scorpene class submarine constructed by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, was launched by the Indian Navy. The other two submarines from this class that were launched previously were INS Khanderi and INS Kalvari.
  • Assam Government signed a MoU with the National Building Construction Corporation (NBCC) for construction of a 65-storey Twin Tower Trade Centre in Guwahati.
  • While presenting the Union Budget 2018, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced that the government would be building a tunnel through the Sela Pass in Arunachal Pradesh. This will ensure faster movement of troops in Tawang, a strategically located town in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • World Cancer Day was observed across the world on February 4th, 2018 with the aim to unite the world against cancer. This year’s theme was “We can. I can.”
