ARRANGEMENT

A]

6 – B

5 – C

4 – D

3 – A

2 – F

1 – E

Step 1: Take the first concrete fact given to you. i.e B lives on floor 6

Step 2: Since A loves equally far from C and E, and D is two floors above F, it clearly follows that A lives on the 3rd floor.

Step 3: Since the distance between D and F is two floors, and D lives above F, it clearly follows that D lives on the 4th floor, while F stays on the 2nd

Step 4: F is a doctor, hence C cannot stay on the 1st floor. Thus, C stays on the 5th floor while E stays on the 1st floor.

NUMBER SEQUENCES

  1. (a)

Logic: 4, (4×2) + 1, (9×3) -1, (26×4) +1, (105×5) -1, (524×6) + 1 = 3145

  1. (c)

Logic: 1, 13 + 1, 2, 23+ 2, 3, 33 + 3, 4, 43 +4 = 68

This series is a double sequence, it has two alternate series alongside one of which is 1, 2,3.. and the other is 2, 10, 30..

ALPHABET SEQUENCE

  1. PLH

Logic: Each number has the numerical value of its position. For eg. A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4 and so on
In this sequence:(A, A+4=E, E+4=I : Z, Z-4=V, V-4=R :: I+2=K, K+4=O, O+4=S : R-2=P,P-4=L,L-4=H)

BLOOD RELATIONS

  1. The answer to the first question of Arrangements, Part C is both C and D. It appeared in one of the papers of NLSIU(not sure which year, but most probably 2001-2003). Try it. Both C and D get satisfied.
Even the Carreer Launcher Module which has the answers to the last years papers mentions the answer as both C and D.

  2. i think d answer 2 d ques. of arrangements 4 part b . is wrong.

    A-HIST. B-ECO C-INT.LAW D-PROPERTY LAW. plzzzzzzzz DO LET ME KNOW………..

  3. Hey!
The answer to part B of the Arrangement questions, as given in the sample test is very much correct. Your arrangement is flawed since it does not fulfil the given condition “2) Mrs. B sits right to the property law teacher.” According to your arrangement B sits left to the property law teacher i.e D. To understand where u went wrong, draw out your arrangement as if they were seated around a table, and then read each condition and see if the arrangement fulfils it. This is foolproof method to ensure that you haven’t made an any errors. If you have any doubts you can always get back to us. =)

  5. hey, i did not understand the logic in Q2 of number sequences.
according to the answer, shouldn’t the sequence be 1, 14,2,25,3,36,4,47?but the question says 1,2,2,10,3,30,4.

  6. There’s a contradiction in the first arrangement question, isn’t it? C is on the Floor 5 or, the 4th floor. The question has two mistakes. Option (a) which states C is on Floor 4 – incorrect as well as (c) E is on Floor 5 – also incorrect.

And, Tanya rightly pointed out the discrepancy in the second Numerical question.

  7. In directions- the second question.

How is the answer (d). why not (a)???
I believe it is north east……
