Akhileshwari’s Musings

I was just watching “I am number four” today when this thought crossed my mind, it is a thought I haven’t thought of in a while. Sometimes I wonder…shouldn’t there be more to life than just what we do? Be born, go to school, then college, then get married and procreate and then just die? Shouldn’t there be something else to life than just that? Is this all there is? Is this all life is? Isn’t there any grand adventure for us to have? Some quest to solve? People to save?

What about slaying dragons? {if you are a fan of LOTR] or becoming a dragon rider and saving Algaesia? [If you are an inherence trilogy fan] And meeting elves and dwarves and fairies? What about breaking curses and breaking open doors with wands? Where is the magic in our lives? Why do we live this mundane life…I mean seriously, we live we die…it’s an existentialist’s wet dream but not so much mine. As someone who’s deeply rooted in fantasy I’ve had phases where I’ve become completely enamoured by the idea of a greater purpose where anything’s is possible, where I fulfil ancient prophesies and help save the world and become a paladin for all that is good and right in this world.

Why didn’t an owl drop my Hogwarts letter through my window? Why didn’t I find a sapphire egg that held the last female dragon? Why am I not a dragon rider? These questions have always plagued me. Why can’t we have something more? Something so very different from the live we live?

Sometimes I wonder if there is in fact a whole different world out there, an alternate dimension where all these things happen to people. What if we really are all just muggles and we really don’t see the magic all around us? That would kind of suck huh? Precisely why I stop that train of thought ASAP 😛

At least my next life, I hope to be somebody different…Someone with a purpose and a prophesy to fulfil. You know what the thing is? Sad or otherwise ,I don’t think I’m ever going to stop believing that there is in fact a great adventure for me have, great love, great sacrifice, battles to fight and evil to slay. I’m never going to stop believing. Lol I wonder if this makes me a dork..Don’t particularly care either way. Anyway this goes out to all the believers and {wonderers[?]} let’s just stick with people who wonder, if there IS in fact something more. You are not alone. I’m right there with ya always wondering, always dreaming .

  1. I wouldn’t say that we all go through only those stages in life. Yes a majority do, but those who don’t are the ones who ‘make it big’.
Your purpose you might not have known as you wrote this, but I’m pretty sure it will come in your path in this very life. 🙂

  2. This’s sooo true… 🙂 I’m still waiting for my mutant power to kick in and, occasionally, I still cry out, “SHAZAM”… 😀

    • haha,i’ve always wanted to be able to generate fire.like fire star..i just stare intensely at my palms while willing fire to erupt form them.no luck yet,but i’m nothing if not persistent,so it should happen any day now 🙂

  3. It’s what we all want…that somehow our lives are remembered or carried on after we leave.
We all want to leave a legacy…only a few succeed :/

  4. Oh I wish I could be a hitman. Like the Hitman in the game.
Live a lonely life, travel to the far off countries, play with the best weapons and kill people with stealth.

  6. Yeah, I’m waiting for that day too when I’ll be told, “YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE”. Except, I’ll probably be waiting my whole life :/
