You wouldn’t call an explosion an illusion would you? As for a Rainbow, it’s the scattering of Light through tiny droplets acting as wee prisms. 14. There was a question on GST. Had to choose the correct options from 4 statements. Stat 1 was “GST is direct tax” which is definitely wrong. Stat 4 was something about Article 297A which was also wrong (correct art was 279A). Among the given options, two were definitely incorrect. However, other two options were 1,2,3 and 2,3,4. And stat 1 and 4 were incorrect. So, there was a typo in either in statements or in options. I may have made a mistake in reading although I am pretty sure about it so please correct me if I am wrong.

    • Twas this: According to which article the President can ask retired supreme court judges to act as judes for a particular case? Article 128. (This was asked in CLAT 2013)

  15. It was like CLAT 2015 – candidates did not expect this kind of paper.
English – Easiest section. Mostly vocab based. One set of ques was in tabular form and took a little time for me to get the pattern and as soon as I got it I solved all the questions easily. Only one set of parajumbles. No RC. A RC sized cloze test. A few ‘spot the incorrect sentences’ ques and idioms/phrases.
GK – As far as I can remember, about half of the ques were from CA. Keeping in mind the ailet pattern, I was expecting ques from all the usual areas- sports, international, economy, national schemes and relating to important national and international issues. SO important events happened in 2016-17 that I was sure that they would come in paper but I was left disappointed. Most of them were quite unsual and unexpected. Like when you prepare CA you know what ques are important and must for paper and what are only to be prepared as a precautionary measure. Most of themthe ques fell into 2nd category. Fortunately, I had prepared for this scenario.
Legal- AILET has a set pattern when it comes to legal section – Short principles and facts ques on legal reasoning. This paper had fewer reasoning ques with lengthy principles and even more lengthy facts. They were easy but time consuming. Many Assertion-Reason ques and some ques on current legal gk that required deep knowledge of current legal gk. Some of them were related to minimum wages, subsidy, maternity benefit(26), john doe(injunction), decriminalisation suicide etc.
Logic- Had a new type of set of ques based on course of action/decision making. A set of Input/Output ques that was time consuming. Maybe 5-6 para based assumptions and strengthening/weakening ques that were easy. 4 easy ques from series.
Math – Only section with usual ailet pattern. Moderate level.
Overall, I did not expect this kind of paper and neither did anyone else I guess. AILET used to have a set pattern so we did not have to worry like in the case of CLAT which is totally unpredictable. It was lengthy, time-consuming and slightly tougher than past years papers.

  16. There was a question asking “Which of the following is NOT one of the 3 women to be Deputy Governors of RBI”

    Q. What is “Greenmail” ?
Ans. It is a take over defence (Long Live the writers of Pratyogita Darpan)
By the way, the paper was too damn long !

  17. Auroras aren’t optical illusions. They are real. Charged particles hit the Magnetosphere. Same thing happens on planets like Jupiter, only much strongly. You wouldn’t call an explosion an illusion would you? As for a Rainbow, it’s the scattering of Light through tiny droplets acting as wee prisms. The twinkling of Stars is due to atmospheric disturbances that cause light coming from thousands of Light years away to sometimes be obstructed and and then moments later be unobstructed.
