Hello, folks!

Now that CLAT is done, it’s time for a shift in the mundane routine. We know that the results are out on the 20th of this month and nothing seems right. Plus, the varied opinions on the difficulty level of the paper or the surprise pattern could be overwhelming. But, there’s nothing one can do at this point. We, being the good Samaritans, give you ways of using that nothingness.

For those of you who express best with words, we already have the CLATGyan Blog Post Writing Competition – 2015. Fortunately, for those who believe that actions speak louder than words, we present to you our very first – The CLATGyan Photography Competition – 2015. Yes, all you shutterbugs out there, get your cameras out!

Who can participate? Anybody. Law students, CLAT aspirants, faculty, alumni of law schools, lawyers…

The theme: “My reason for choosing law” – use your creativity to capture a scene which depicts why you chose law. We will be as liberal as we can be with the entries. Is a car stuck in the traffic relevant to denote your confusion? Yes. A picture of kites stuck in the open wires? Indeed. Or a simple picture of a stash of money? Of course! But, along with the photograph, all we need is a 50-100 word note explaining the context and describing the significance of the photograph.

Who judges and how? The winner of the competition would be decided based on the number of likes your entry gets after we post it on our Facebook page. Also, another component of the judging will be the decision taken by our very own senior admins from Photo Booth NALSAR– Manasa M Dhar, Sindoori Sriram, and Mohammad Asadulla Shareef.

You shall be judged based on your creativity, the relevance to the theme and the description you provide. The decision taken by the judges will be final.

What do you win? Rs. 3,000/- in cash for the best entry. Two more prizes of Rs. 1,000/- in cash each for those which give a tough competition to the winning entry.

Rules:

  1. Please stick to the theme. Elaborate on how your entry is related to the theme, the context, and the relevance with a description of at least 50 words and a maximum of 100 words.
  2. Your entry shall be disqualified if there is any editing. (duh!)
  3. Each person can send in only one photograph.
  4. Any camera is permitted. (Mobile cameras to DSLRs, anything.)
  5. There is no limit on the file size of your entry.

Email us your photo entries to shutter@clatgyan.com. The description must be present in the mail body and your photo entry must be sent as an attachment. Do send us a couple of lines about yourself. We’ll publish them along with your entry.

The last date to send in your entries is the 30th of June, 2015. Happy clicking! 🙂
